Understanding the Source of Your Hip Pain

Similar symptoms can arise from different hip conditions, each requiring its own approach to care. A thorough evaluation helps identify the cause of your pain and determine which treatment options are appropriate.

Hip Conditions We Treat

Dr. Shore evaluates and treats a wide range of hip conditions at his offices in Marina del Rey, Newport Beach, and Santa Monica.

Reduced blood supply causes bone tissue death. Over time, this may lead to hip collapse or arthritis.

A mismatch in hip joint shape that leads to cartilage damage, pain, and stiffness with rotation or motion.

Tears in the labrum may cause clicking, catching, or a deep ache in the hip or groin.

When the socket is too shallow, it leaves the joint unstable and prone to early wear.

Cartilage loss inside the joint can cause pain, stiffness, and loss of motion.

Tears in the outer hip tendons cause weakness and pain while walking or using stairs.

Tears near the tendon origin limit flexibility and cause pain during bending or sitting.

Tight muscles in the buttocks compress the sciatic nerve. This may lead to leg pain or tingling.
