Patient Reviews
The best Dr, nurses, staff …. Everyone was so nice very helpful… definitely 5 star experience!!
I recently had a left total hip replacement with Dr. Shore after initially seeking treatment for severe hip pain caused by femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) and a labral tear. I chose Dr. Shore because he is a comprehensive hip surgeon, performing everything from hip arthroscopy to total hip replacement. Initially, I hoped my issue could be resolved with arthroscopy.
At my first visit, Dr. Shore had already ordered X-rays for review. He examined me, ordered an MRI, and referred me to a specific imaging center. Unlike other specialists who schedule follow-ups six weeks out, he saw me just two weeks later to discuss the results, which reassured me that he was committed to finding a solution quickly.
After reviewing my MRI, Dr. Shore presented my options: conservative treatment with injections, arthroscopy with mixed success, or total hip replacement. He was upfront about the potential outcomes of hip arthroscopy, explaining that even a successful procedure would likely only delay the need for a replacement by 5–7 years and carried a significant risk of failure. I appreciated his honesty, especially regarding the benefits and risks of hip replacement at my age. Ultimately, I opted for the more reliable solution: total hip replacement.
Surgery was scheduled six weeks later, and the entire experience was exceptional. The surgery center was the nicest I’ve ever visited. Dr. Shore used the Mako robotic-arm-assisted technique with an anterior bikini incision approach. If I lose my mind and decide to wear a speedo, the scar would be completely covered.
His office staff was incredibly supportive throughout the process, staying communicative via email, text, and phone. They also coordinated home healthcare and physical therapy for three weeks post-op. Mellany and Jazmine, in particular, made both the pre- and post-surgery experience seamless, avoiding the usual miscommunications that often come with medical offices.
Now, six weeks post-op, I’m recovering well. I value because he is not only a skilled surgeon; he is also caring, honest, genuine, professional, and always has time to answer questions. I know I’ll need other orthopedic surgeries in the future—on my other hip, my knees, etc.—and when that time comes, I’ll be returning to Dr. Shore.

fantastic doctor, has given me an excellent experience.
Dr. Shore took the time to explain in detail the physical damage in my shoulder. He patiently answered all of my questions. We discussed a going forward plan tailored specifically for me, taking into account my injuries and active lifestyle. I appreciated his attention to detail and his clear explanations and answers. I felt comfortable and confident in our formulation of a plan for me. Overall a very positive experience!
Dr. Shore was attentive and clarified the potential causes and path forward. Didnt push drugs as the short term solution.

After consulting with surgeons at Stanford, UCSF, and private group practices in California and Chicago, I chose Dr. Brett Shore for his medical training, experience, character, and initiative to master the new Anterior Approach Hip Replacement using the horizontal bikini incision. My groin pain began in 2006 degenerating to end stage by 2023. With no cartilage and having worn the ball of the hip flat, I struggled with severe pain for fear of surgery's possible side effects. In 2024 I transfered my own stem cells with PRP Plasma Rich Platletts to both hips but my condition was so advanced that the dgeneration and pain continued to increase. Dr. Shore replaced my right hip Nov. 8, 2024 and it was an immediate miracle. I have no pain and my hip and leg do not feel foreign. I feel like I have my original hip and leg. I do not feel the implant. I always thought I would have some residual pain going forward but all the sciatica, electric pain developing around my knees and shin, the standing pain of bone pressing on bone, and grinding of bones without cartilage is all gone! I have full mobility and am looking forward to my left hip surgery on Jan. 31, 2025. I highly recommend Dr. Shore.
Dr. Shore, provides detailed information on everything that is going on. He cares about you as a patient and wants to insure the care provided is with your best interest at heart. If I ever have to have a hip surgery again, it will be with Dr Shore!
Great dr and staff. Gave me options for torn meniscus in my knee. Surgery scares me for now. So physical therapy and a brace for now. Easy to talk with.
Very excited to be treated by Dr. Shore.
